Thanksgiving Stuffings

So it's back to the drab world of reality! If you are like me you have been off for pretty much a week and had plenty of time to get your fix of sports addiction in! What a Thanksgiving holiday it was for sports fanatics and casual sports fans alike! There was a shake up in the BCS college football world after (19) Nevada knocked off (4) Boise State in a classic overtime battle! A missed field goal by Boise State kicker Kyle Brotzman opened the door for Nevada to go ahead with the W and shake up the top five of the BCS polls! With the record day for Nevada's running back Vai Taua (carrying the ball 32 times for 131 yards and 1 TD), Nevada held on long enough to secure the victory and perhaps spoiling Boise State’s national title hopes! National darlings and Thanksgiving’s usual heroes LSU fell also in a game that perhaps had everyone on this side of the Mississippi reeling and clinching for dear life as LSU fell to (12) Arkansas behind receiver Cobi Hamilton's 164 yards receiving and 2 TDs! It was pretty much the Cobi Hamilton show that day as the LSU offense was strategically picked apart by the dynamic offensive display of Cobi. The LSU Tigers were on the way to mounting an impressive comeback that was stalled by Jordan Jefferson turning the ball over and thus ending LSU's comeback bid and causing them to stall out in the end. Not too sure what to make of the Oklahoma vs. Oklahoma State game…it's kind of up and down with these two schools when it comes to who is going to dominate and reign supreme in the good ole state of Oklahoma! It was an offensive battle/ shootout to say the least though. In the fourth quarter alone we saw both teams combine for forty points and over four hundred yards of total offense. With the Sooners QB Landry Jones shaking off throwing three interceptions and ending up with 468 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Sooners to an upset of not so epic proportions. I'm not saying that the OU vs. OSU game didn't perhaps upset some football lovers but let’s be honest: Who really cares about those two!? Only if you live in that state or perhaps have always had an affinity for them!

On the pro level, I believe that the most talked about game for the week and the weekend was the true grid-iron battle between the Titans and the Texans! It has always been ill feelings between the Oilers (oops Titans I mean) and the Texans and it really boiled over as Andre Johnson and Cortland Finnegan came to blows, literally! Well it was a little more of Andre throwing blows and Finnegan catching them to the face! I think the fact that the Texans actually beat the Titans was overshadowed by the fact that some nuts were shown by the Texans! Even if the game turned into a MMA match it was good to see some blood boiling and the Texans getting tired of being pushed the hell around. I guess with Kubiak feeling the pressure of the city coming down on him he returned to the formula that helped the Texans off to a decent start before the starting dropping L's and stinking up the city. Running the ball was the thing that was working for them and putting the ball and the offense in the hands and shoulders of Arian Foster made a lot of damn sense! Foster is one of the top rushing backs in the League and them going away from him and just casually throwing the damn ball every which way was not working! I still believe that Dunta Robinson's presence at the cornerback is sorely missed, but that wasn't a problem for them Sunday because the Titans were without Vince Young and the offense seemed to be stalling out on them even with the addition of WR Randy Moss. They still were more like wounded dogs and Finnegan’s ass whooping just added to the wounds. SMDH!

A lot of people have been questioning the Saints win of the Super Bowl last year and that led the lowly Dallas Cowboys to believe that the stumbling of the Saints this year would help them come up with an upset of the Saints. It looked like it was going to be a blow out for the Saints, but without Romo at the helm the Dallas offense actually looked poised to make a possible upset dream a reality but thanks to Roy Williams coughing up the ball at the goal line the effort for the Cowboys became a bleak reality. You know it was all this noise being made at the beginning of the season that the Cowboys would be representing in the Super Bowl in their own stadium this year. Can someone please wake the Dallas fans up from their dreams and delusions of grandeur and tell them that their reality is really a sweet, twisted nightmare? The Cowboys are far from going to the Bowl and damn sure are not going to see any playoffs! I wonder if it would be against League rules for a team to commit mass team suicide because I know the Cowboy fans are kind of ready to commit homicide on their asses!

The Falcons are division leaders after so far putting together a 9-2 season and it looks as if Dunta Robinson is having the last laugh on the Texans behalves! Yeah Dunta ended up hurt again this year, but I will take a concussion in the heat of the battle than not playing at all in a game. I'm not saying that Dunta is the greatest at his position nor is just a beast for that matter, but with him being undersized at his position he still gives it his all and throws himself into every play he can! It's a shame that people can't see that! Coming up with three six tackle games this season and recording nine in his last two games after returning from injury Robinson has more than shown his importance to any defense. The only complaint that I can say about Dunta is that he has yet to record any interceptions in his last 28 games and that is dating back to 2008. He is fast and has great hands and instincts but that is where sometimes his lack of size affects his game and performance.

Hey how about them Bears? "Da Bears!" You can't over look them or even say that they don’t have a good enough QB to make any noise because they continually exceed expectations with their play so far and Jay Cutler's performance in their defeat of Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles hushes a lot of doubters and haters! Throwing four touchdown passes and tying a career high, Cutler reminded everyone that he is a professional football player and he isn't in the League by mistake! I was talking to a true Bears fan the other day at my extra gig and she was telling me that a lot of Bears fans at the beginning of the season were ready to write the Bears off because they were tired of being disappointed and let down and they were looking past football to basketball season. Well ma'am it's good that you didn't give up because the Bears refuse to be overlooked by anyone any longer! Take that bitchesssss!

Let's change pace shall we? I know it's early in the NBA season but the Heat are overrated, the Cavs look better WITHOUT LeBron, the Lakers are looking true to championship form, the Celtics and the Magic are the two best teams in the East and the Hornets are alive and well in New Orleans despite some believing that they had nothing left in them. The Rockets still seem to disappoint and excite fans in Houston and they need to get rid of Yao Ming’s ass. He really ain't all he is cracked up to be or everyone thinks he is! Oh yeah, LeBron needs to stop bumping his coaches! That is a hoe move when you are basically a giant to dudes and you know that you all’s losing ways ain’t all the coaches fault. You all are the players on the court...you really think you are going to get benched for playing with some heart and refusing to lose? I mean Kobe does it, Pierce does it...great players do it all the time! I say they get out the way and give Flash back his damn team! He is the HEAT! When other players come and go Dwyane Wade and Udonis Haslem are all that's always left! You get what you give sir (LeBron) and not giving what you signed on for is some hoe ass shit! Get off the ball and let D. Wade run the show…LeBron still doesn't know how to share! Look at the Cavs...when he was there Mo Williams was not the Mo Williams that people knew, Gibson is an effective player but he needs to touch the ball to be effective, Jamison was not the Jamison that we knew he could be when he was playing with the Wiz and he played with Arenas’ crazy ass!!! I could go on and on with my concerns and dislikes and predictions but I don’t want to make up for my absence from you all in one mass article.

Catch you all later...it's good to be back!!!
