We have all been fenin for it, waiting patiently, hoping praying and wishing.... and it finally arrived!!! Week one of NFL fooball!!That's right sports fans, the NFL is back and with a kick in the ass for all you couch potatoes and arm chair quarter backs!!! You fantasy footballers and you everyday stataticians; yes the game is back. What better way to open up the season by watching two NFL champions tee off and it was no let down either!!! The Green Bay Packers looked like they never stopped playing as they jumped all over the New Orleans Saints quick, fast and early, showing no signs of a championship "hangover" or any effects of the shortened pre season!

Leading a power punched offense Aaron Rodgers took the feild and made it look like childs play against the Saints, racking up 312 yards, going 27 of 35 and tossing in three touchdowns before the game was over. His main targets for the night, Greg Jennings (7 catches for 88 yards and 1 TD) and Jordy Nelson (5 catches for 77 yards ans 1 TD) made it easy work. The Saints secondary almost looked extremely bleek as they seemed to be headed for a blow out of epic proportion. Luckily the Saints began to show resilance after the Packers jumped all over them and scored 14 quick unanswered points. If you were a Saints fan that night you probaly wanted to kick your TV over, burn you T-Shirts and jersey and curse the ground that the Saints walk on! Luckily Sean Payton and Drew Brees got it together and began to show some signs of the team that went on that improbable run and bought home the Championship trophy to the swamp after the nation counted them out due to Katrina blowing them all to the wind!

Brees himself put together an extremely impressive game on performance himself by racking up 419 yard, 3 TDs and going 32 of 49 himself as the "Who Dat" Nation attempted to rise up again and make a game of the night. That is exactly what the Saints did but by the end of the night and when the dust settled, the Packers got all of the victorious spoils as they complted the night with a 42-34 win. Thank goodness the Saints didn't wake up that night because I can truly say that no one wanted to see a straight up blow out the first game ofthe season. I know I didn't because I would have definately cut the damn TV off and walked away for the evening!
Now that we have gotten that out of the way, let's talk about the game of the weekend for most Houstonians shall we? The season opener of our beloved Houston Texans agains the Manning-less Colts. Now let me be the first to say that when they said Payton wasn't playing I knew the offense may struggle but damn.... Seven points!!

Colts you all could have put up a little more of a fight huh?! I mean I'm just saying, you all are professionals and the best at what you do?! Even Kerry Collins ass!!! I mean I know he is freh off skeet shooting and downing some beers but dang if you gonna come back then be ready!!! The Texans looked like an extremely high powered offense putting up 34 first half points but I must say what impressed me the most was the defense of the Texans. Led by new but old Defensive coordinator of Wade Phillips ( bout time Houton hired the right people for the job!) the defense looked extremely stingy and hungry against the Colts. Going for any and every inteception that they were close to, closing up the field on Joseph Addai and limiting Collins vision down field, it was a hell of a day for the Texans defense.

Sure the offense has never really been a problem considering that they have been one of the most potent and high powered offenses in the legue the past few seasons, with the tripple headed monster of Shaubb, Foster and Johnson racking up always impressive numbers. The only numbers that were more noticable that the offenses numbers were the teams lack of W's. Missing te playoffs the past three seasons when it seems that no one could stop them offensively. It wasn't the O that was the problem so that is not where the fingers were being pointed, but it was obvious that heads were going to roll and it started with the defense and was gonna work it's way up the food chain to Kubiak. So with the new, tough defense that the Texans are flexing the next head that is definately on the chopping block is good ol Gary! For now though Gary is safe even though the Texans still lack that killer instinct as they failed to put up anymore points the entire second half of the game. Not too sure if the dogs were called off or what, the Texans should have stayed on top of the Colts with no mercy!!!Sure the game was over the first ten minutes but this is a team that has dominated you for the past few seasons and spolied your season opening plans, come on kick their ass!!!! I guess I can't really complain about too much because the Texans did handle them!
Before I leave, I just want to check on all the Dallas Fans and make sure that you all know that if you need someone to talk to about that disappointing but usual lose that you all have we are here!! We will have our hotlines open 24 hours a day 7 day a week to talk you off that ledge!! Don't do it Cowboy faithfuls don't jump!!! Losing is what you all havedone lately so there is no reason to end it all!!! Ha!!!!
Well Im gonna let you all simmer in this and I'm gonna pack it in for the night!! Damn it feels good to be back!!!
